Incorporation: Thousand Oaks was officially incorporated as a city on October 7, 1964. Since then, it has expanded both to the west and east.


Conejo Valley: The city forms the central populated core of the Conejo Valley, which includes master-planned communities like Westlake and Newbury Park.
Population: As of the 2020 census, the population of Thousand Oaks was 126,966, making it the second-largest city in Ventura County.
